Music: David Bowie "Changes" This is my first “corner painting.” The portrait changes expressions and shapes as the viewer moves up and down and around the painting (or sculpture). This was an idea that went back to my time in New Orleans when I was in the military (painting as much as I could manage) and when I first began reading physics books and historical biographies in an attempt to aid in my desire to comprehend reality and the nature of extra or hidden dimensions. The idea originated when I looked at a corner in the ceiling in my apartment and saw a face constructed of cracks and stains. The image of the face was only visible from one particular angle and I began to imagine that the extra dimensions weren’t just extraordinarily small (as proposed by physicists), but hidden from us in plain sight.
