Music: Beyoncé “Freedom” I have no idea what sort of candidate Kamala Harris might have been if she had secured the nomination through a proper primary process. I do know that the Democrats' failure to not allow Biden to run again and the abbreviated campaign Kamala was forced to deal with (including Joe Biden's election team remaining in charge of the campaign) hampered her ability to break free from some of the more disastrous policies of Biden (especially with regards to the massacre in Gaza and the unwillingness to address the financial crisis being caused by under taxation of the billionaire/oligarch class). But I remain proud of my vote for her and I am extremely proud to have been able to vote against such a horrible human as Donald Trump three separate times (even though Bernie was my choice for candidate in 2016 and Elizabeth Warren my choice for 2020). I originally made this work for the 2020 election with acrylic paint and I had always intended on glazing it with oil paint; but I never got around to it until the 2024 election. It was already a highly refined under painting but I’ve used this technique for pieces far more unrealized than this. The end of the video shows the acrylic work I painted for her campaign in 2024.
